Theresa (Teri) Danner serves as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist at Optum® Specialty Pharmacy. The parent company, UnitedHealth Group® (NYSE: UNH), is a distinctively diversified health and well-being company headquartered in the United States, and a leader worldwide in helping people live healthier lives and helping make the health system work better for everyone.

Bringing more than 10 years of experience, Dr. Danner is the therapy lead for multiple sclerosis at Optum Specialty Pharmacy. She works closely with the pharmacists and patient care coordinators who support patients living with multiple sclerosis and collaborates with internal and external partners to drive outcomes in the multiple sclerosis space.

Optum provides full-service, innovative, patient-centric specialty pharmacy and infusion services that serve a diverse customer base, from patients and providers to payers and pharmaceutical manufacturers, with strong concentration in oncology, immunology, neurology, autoimmune, and limited distribution therapies through over 50 pharmacies nationwide.

In 2015, Dr. Danner joined OptumRx via the acquisition of Catamaran Corporation, a pharmacy benefits management company, where she served as a pharmacist. Prior to Catamaran, she was in management at a large retail pharmacy.

Throughout her career, she has been passionate about the pharmacy patient experience. Specific to multiple sclerosis, Dr. Danner has led initiatives focused on supporting the individual patient under the umbrellas of adherence and clinical outcomes related to total cost of care.

She is a Certified Specialty Pharmacist through the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP) and is a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Specialist through the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC). Dr. Danner holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. She is a member of the CMSC. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Southeast Indiana–Kentucky Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) and is a member of the NMSS Kentucky–Tennessee Healthcare Provider Council.
