Mary Jo Strobel has nearly 25 years of professional experience in nonprofit patient advocacy for allergic conditions. She lives near Washington, D.C. and serves as the Executive Director of the American Partnership for Eosinophilic Disorders (APFED), having been in this role since 2012. She has a broad background and experience with patient education, awareness campaigns, advocacy, and research. A trusted research collaborator, Ms. Strobel has co-authored numerous abstracts and journal publications. In addition to invitational speaking engagements around the U.S. and abroad to share insights and information with patients, providers, industry, government agencies, policymakers, and other nonprofits, she also represents APFED as a member of the Consortium of Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease Researchers; the Rare Disease Clinical Research Network Coalition of Patient Advocacy Groups for which she serves on the Steering Committee; the Lay Organization Strategic Partnership of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI); and in several national and global collaboratives to identify and address unmet needs of patients with eosinophil-associated disease. Ms. Strobel is a recipient of the 2023 AAAAI Distinguished Layperson Award.
