        Dr. Mikhael is a consultant hematologist at the Mayo Clinic  in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is the Deputy Director - Education of the Mayo  Clinic Cancer Center. He specializes in plasma cell disorders, namely multiple  myeloma, amyloidosis and Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia. Dr. Mikhael is  currently the principal investigator of many clinical trials, primarily in  multiple myeloma.  His clinical research  interests also include pharmacoeconomics, communication skills and supportive  care in cancer.   
          He did his medical school and internal medicine training at  the University of Ottawa, Canada.  He  then did his Hematology training at the University of Toronto, followed by a  master’s degree in education and a Multiple Myeloma fellowship at Princess  Margaret Hospital.  He was a staff  physician at the Princess Margaret Hospital and Toronto General Hospital from  2004 until 2008 when he moved to Arizona to work at Mayo Clinic. 
Dr. Mikhael is an associate  professor at the Mayo College of Medicine, and is heavily involved in  education.  He is the Associate Dean of  Graduate Medical Education at Mayo Clinic in Arizona and he is the Associate  Chair of Education for the Department of Medicine.  He is also the Vice-Chair of Education for  the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology and is the former program  director of the Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Training Program at Mayo Clinic  Arizona. |
