Chris Cannon, MD, FACC, is Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Senior Physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Cannon is the Executive Director of Cardiometabolic Trials at Harvard Clinical Research Institute and a Senior Investigator in the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) Study Group, leading trials such as TACTICS-TIMI 18, PROVE IT-TIMI 22, and CLARITY-TIMI 28. Dr. Cannon’s clinical interests include myocardial infarction, preventive cardiology, and unstable angina.

An invited speaker at numerous professional meetings, Dr. Cannon has also published over 900 original articles, review, book chapters or electronic publications , including works in Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, American Journal of Cardiology, American Heart Journal, Journal of the American Medical Association, and the New England Journal of Medicine. He is Editor-In-Chief of the Science and Quality section of the American College of Cardiology’s website, Cardiosource, as well as Critical Pathways in Cardiology and a 60-book series, Contemporary Cardiology. He has authored or edited 10 books, including the New Heart Disease Handbook.

Dr. Cannon completed his undergraduate studies at Yale College and earned his doctorate from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell Campus, and a fellowship in Cardiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
