Target Audience
The primary target audience for this initiative includes medical directors, pharmacy directors, clinical pharmacists, specialty pharmacists, and quality directors, as well as network physicians affiliated with managed care organizations (MCOs), health systems, and other payer organizations. Other managed care professionals include nurses, case managers, policy administrators, utilization managers, C-suite executives, and IT professionals.

Statement of Need/Program Overview
Given emerging evidence and recently updated clinical guidelines in the management of retinal diseases, managed care and payer professionals require competence to integrate emerging clinical trends and updates into the management of retinal diseases. There is a growing need for health care professionals to understand evidence-based care management strategies for retinal diseases to build competence in applying best-practice payer strategies to facilitate high-quality outcomes in retinal diseases.

Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to demonstrate improved ability to:

• Evaluate current clinical trends and updates in retinal disease (DR/DME, AMD, RVO) management, including real-world data, and the implications for coverage and utilization management strategies
• Cite evidence-based care management recommendations for retinal diseases in clinical and payer workflows
• Outline opportunities for payer–provider collaboration to reduce access barriers, incorporating approaches that support equitable and timely care across diverse patient populations
• Assess best-practice payer strategies across the care continuum to optimize outcomes for patients with retinal diseases
