David I. Bernstein MD is Professor of Medicine and Environmental Health at the University of Cincinnati in the Department of Internal Medicine’s Division of Immunology, Allergy and Rheumatology. Dr. Bernstein graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, completed Internal Medicine training at the Cleveland Clinic and served as an Allergy-Immunology fellow at Northwestern University (1980-82).  He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Allergy-Immunology and Diagnostic Laboratory Immunology. Dr. Bernstein is Co-director of the University of Cincinnati training program in Allergy-Immunology and Principal Investigator of T32 Training Grant in Allergy-Immunology.   He has served as the Chairperson of the Environmental and Occupational Disorder Interest Section of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and is a current member of the Joint Task Force for Allergy Practice Parameters.  Current research activities include novel treatments for asthma, environmental causes of atopic disorders in childhood and genetics of occupational asthma. He is co-editor of the authoritative text on Occupational Asthma, Asthma in the Workplace, now in its 3rd edition. Dr. Bernstein has authored or co-authored 112 articles in peer-reviewed journals as well numerous reviews and book chapters.
