Celynda G. Tadlock, PharmD, MBA, is Vice President, Pharmacy Business Development at Aetna. In this role, Dr. Tadlock leads many aspects of the pharmacy organization that services 15 million Commercial members. Her accountabilities in pharmacy include the following strategies: Product, Clinical, Trend, Quality, Sales, Revenue Growth, Client Service, Pricing, Analytics, Actuarial, Operations, Service Innovation, Network Administration, Performance Management, and Industry Relations.

 

Dr. Tadlock serves as President, Coventry Prescription Management, Inc. until the completion of the Coventry migration to Aetna. Formerly she was Chief Operating Officer, Pharmacy at Coventry. In this role Dr. Tadlock led all aspects of pharmacy at the corporate level for Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid lines of business. She was accountable at the senior leader level for pharmacy strategy and operational planning in the areas of pharmacy systems, pharmacy contracting, rebate contracting, heath technology assessment, and coverage determinations. She executed network management strategies, partner development initiatives, vendor management activities, and product development strategies.

 

Dr. Tadlock previously held the role of Senior Director, Program Management at Express-Scripts, Inc. In this role she was responsible for program oversight for the Managed Care Division's largest client, WellPoint, Inc.

Previously, at WellPoint, Dr. Tadlock was Regional Vice President, Medicare. In this role she was responsible for overseeing operational and clinical aspects of account management for the MAPD, PDP, and employer waiver business. Also while at WellPoint, she was Director of Corporate Clinical Business Operations directing all aspects of formulary decision making at the National Pharmacy &Therapeutics (P&T) Committee level to ensure evidentiary and analytical standards were incorporated into The WellPoint Outcomes Based FormularySM review process.

 

Dr. Tadlock has also had responsibilities for other corporate areas, during her fourteen year tenure, at WellPoint including: national accounts, internal accounts, regional accounts, clinical affairs, drug information services, legislative affairs, rebates, and process improvement.

 

Dr. Tadlock is President Emeritus of The Pharmacy & Therapeutic Society and has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the society since 2000. She is also an active member of the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) serving on the Operating Committee, the Funding Task Force Committee, and as past Chair of the Federal Legislation Sub-Committee. She is also an active member of Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP).

 

Dr. Tadlock received a doctor of pharmacy degree from Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia. She earned a graduate certificate in health services management and a Master of Business Administration degree at Keller Graduate School of Management. She speaks frequently on managed care topics and in the area of hemophilia, enjoys spending time with her husband Gary and their four children, and devotes time to serving children with special needs.
